This 84 Ghanta temple of Bareilly is historical, the story of this temple has been historical. According to mythology, in the year 1969, Late Uma Shankar Garg was constructing his house at Badaun Road, Subhash Nagar. Then the Mother Goddess came in his dream and asked him to build a temple. Then he stopped the work of the house and got this temple constructed. The idol of Maa Durga was established here. 84 hours were offered in this temple in a day. Hence the name of the temple came to be Chaurasi Ghanta. People’s infinite faith is attached to this temple.
Akhand Jyoti is burning in the temple since 1969.
The center of attraction in this temple is the Akhand Jyoti burning here which has been burning continuously since 1969 till now. Here devotees come from far and wide with their wishes. Here there is a tradition of offering a bell when the wishes of the devotee are fulfilled.
